Description
● Used to determine the thermal conductivity of different metals.
● Comprises of 4 different metal strips of equal length, with a depression at the ends, mounted on a wooden ring at right angles.
● On heating the centre of the ring over a flame, the wax contained in the depressions at the end of the different metals melt at different times thereby showing that different metals have different thermal conductivities.
● Metal strips used: Aluminium, Brass, Copper, Iron.
