Description
● A Ripple Tank is used to demonstrate the basic properties of waves such as wave propagation, reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference.
● Comprises of a shallow rectangular tank with a glass bottom, a drainage outlet and sloping sides mounted on 4 legs with levelling screws. Fitted with metal uprights for an adjustable horizontal rippler support. The rippler assembly consists of a rectangular plastic rod with a series of holes for mounting various dippers. A lamp is provided over the tank to illuminate and highlight the various forms of waves propagated.
● A low voltage DC motor with an eccentric cam generates the waves.
