Description
● Searle’s apparatus is used for the measurement of Young’s modulus.
● Comprises of two equal-length wires of the same material and length that are attached to a rigid ceiling bracket and the other end is attached to two metal frames with specially designed self centering chuck. Connected to each other by a pivoted link carrying a spirit level and a standard micrometer (1/100mm). The lower ends of the frame have rings to suspend counterpoise weights.
● Supplied with 2 wires identical in material and diameter and a counterpoise weight.
