Description

● Boyle’s law is a gas law that states that a gas’s pressure and volume are inversely proportional. When the temperature is kept constant, as volume increases, pressure falls and vice versa.
● Comprises of a thick wide bore glass tube mounted on a scale from 0 to 60cm³ with the top end closed and the open end is securely fixed to a metal block. The metal block in turn is connected to a cylindrical oil chamber filled with coloured oil.
● Zero on the scale corresponds to the inside of the closed top end of the tube. Air is confined in the tube by the coloured oil contained in the cylinder fitted with a Bourdon gauge.
● As the pressure in the cylinder is increased oil is forced into the glass tube and the volume of the contained air and its actual total pressure are directly indicated.
● Supplied with coloured oil.
